Nava awarded prime contract to scale Grants.gov modernization

We’ll help the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services scale its modernization of Grants.gov with incremental delivery, API-first architecture, and human-centered design.

Nava is excited to announce we’ve won a prime call order award on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Software Integration and Frontend Technology (SWIFT) blanket purchase agreement (BPA). Through this $39 million, 5-year unrestricted contract, we’ll help HHS scale its modernization of Grants.gov, which supports more than $500 billion in grants each year.

As a public benefit corporation working to make government services simple, effective, and accessible to all, we’re proud to partner with HHS on this mission-aligned work. We’ll leverage our expertise in rapid, incremental delivery, modern API-first architecture, and human-centered design to help HHS scale simpler.grants.gov — their initiative to modernize a digital service that serves 10 million visitors annually.

“We’ve been partnering with HHS for over a year on making the federal grant-making process more accessible, transparent, and equitable,” said Nava CEO and Co-founder Rohan Bhobe. “We’re thrilled to expand our scope of work with HHS. This opportunity will enable us to accelerate our support for organizations and underserved populations across the country that depend on federal grants.”

In July 2023, Nava began partnering with HHS to make it easier for people to find and apply for Grants.gov’s 1,000+ federal grant programs. In August, we won an unrestricted prime award on the SWIFT BPA to continue working with HHS on initiatives that make grants more accessible to organizations across the country — large and small, urban and rural.
