Nava awarded prime contract to improve healthcare experiences for Medicare beneficiaries

We’ll partner with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to give Medicare beneficiaries and their healthcare partners the data they need to make informed decisions about their health.

Nava is pleased to embark on CMS’s Blue Button 2.0 (BB2.0)/Beneficiary FHIR Data Server (BFD) contract. This 4.5-year, $23 million contract focuses on empowering tens of millions of Medicare beneficiaries and their healthcare partners with data to make informed decisions about their health journeys.

We’ll provide CMS with ongoing support in designing, developing, and operating the BB2.0 and BFD systems, enabling Medicare beneficiaries to securely connect their claims to third party applications and ensuring that beneficiaries have positive and consistent experiences when interacting with their data.

"We recently crossed ten years of work and partnership with CMS," said Sha Hwang, Nava COO. “I’m looking forward to what the next decade entails, working together to support these critical efforts for beneficiaries to use third party applications to manage their healthcare, and helping to structure CMS’s data infrastructure to be more flexible, resilient, and user-centered.”

This contract expands on our past work designing, developing, and operating three of CMS’s Claims Data APIs that serve claims data for over 28.7 million beneficiaries. Through this work, we helped CMS meet Medicare beneficiaries’ and providers’ unique needs by providing them with data to make informed healthcare decisions.
