Nava awarded prime contract to enhance CDC’s pandemic-ready systems

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)'s PRIME ReportStream establishes a data pipeline to gather COVID-19 and monkeypox data from states and counties.

Nava is proud to announce we've won a two-year, $17.6 million prime contract to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in designing, building, and operating ReportStream, a data pipeline critical to addressing the nation’s public health emergencies.

As a public benefit corporation, Nava is on a mission to make government services simple, effective, and accessible to all. It’s why we’re excited to embark on this mission-aligned work to support CDC's Pandemic Ready Interoperability Modernization Effort, Data Modernization Initiative (PRIME).

"Making it easier to collect and analyze public health data is an absolutely critical piece of government infrastructure," said Rohan Bhobe. "We're honored to support the CDC in building flexible, resilient systems that can serve communities across the country."

PRIME ReportStream aggregates and delivers reportable disease test results to health departments across the nation. Initially launched in 2020, PRIME ReportStream was built by CDC and the U.S. Digital Service to gather COVID-19 data from states and counties. The initiative was born out of the need to unify national health data sharing and analysis so that public health institutions could more quickly and accurately react to the pandemic

It has since expanded to include support for monkeypox data and continues easing the reporting burden on cities, counties, states, and tribal health authorities across the country.

Nava will provide the technical architecture, agile software development, human-centered design, and DevSecOps expertise necessary for CDC to build and scale flexible, interoperable infrastructure.
